From Sky TV's Stand & Deliver and Best of Today’s Comedians, Oliver has been voted comedian of the year on several occasions and regularly tops the bill at the Stardust Club in Benidorm as well as travelling to other countries such as the Canarys, Germany, Turkey and Ibiza. Oliver in the mid 80's had a number 1 hit in the German charts with the old Tom Jones classic ''The Green Green Grass of Home''.

Later, Oliver always a front man in comedy showbands decided to fulfil his ambition to be a stand up comic and was an instant hit on the club and cabaret circuit, this leading to numerous awards as comic of the year and TV shows on Sky and Tyne Tees television.
